Hi,
I went to my google settings and changed as directed. I still have the problem. the software now says it's not supported. I was able to scan to my email about a couple of weeks ago myself. now I can't. does anyone know why HP says Scan to Email is not supported?

The generally accepted solutions seem to involve using a gmail account and enabling the LSA (less secured application) access. This has been working fine for me. However, I have received notification from Google that they are phasing LSA out and this will quit working in the next year. They say that OAuth will be required. From reading through the past posts, this is not supported by the HP printers.
Are there plans to implement OAuth for email access? And if so, will this be back ported to older models?

I set up a Gmail account
Turned OFF 2-step-verification
Turned ON allow less secure apps
Still does not work. ...."Incorrect credentials. Check your username/password and try again."
Changed the password just to be sure I didn't type it incorrectly. Does not work with new password either so it's not that.
I received the email that said a log in was blocked because it's a less-secure app. I verified that it WAS me. Still authentication fails.
Please help.

I also had the same issue and I went through the exact same process as you have, although I had gotten past the "incorrect credentials" error and I was just getting "protocol not supported"
To get past the credentials error, I ticked the box for "Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)" but kept the port as 465 (SSL, TLS is 587, that one didnt work)
Wait for the critical account alert email from gmail, verify it was you, verify LSA (less secure apps) is on still, and try again. This worked for me on an OfficeJet Pro 8740
I think you just need to make sure that box is ticked

With some update, they had undone my LSA setting. Rechecking it does currently work. But my understanding is that google is removing that option altogether in the future and has already for new accounts. I was just trying to get ahead of the future issue.
