HP Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP8600 All in One printer stopped scanning to my computer. I installed the HP Print and Scan Doctor that was suggested but once that was done all it did was scan the document then copy it, not scan  it to my computer. A message keeps coming up that OGR application not installed on computer, whatever that is, or scan application on computer already in use. But the scanner has always worked in the past so I am lost on this. Has anyone else had this problem?

Just a shot in the dark here, but it sounds like the settings might have gotten changed somehow.  If so, you might want to open the HP Printer Assistant, which should be located here…

C:\Program Files\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8600\Bin\HP Officejet Pro 8600.exe

Once you open the HP Printer Assistant, you can install a printer/scanner or select one of the installed printers/scanners and change the settings. In your case, you would want to select your printer and then on the next screen click on “Manage Scan to Computer” and then *enabled* it - and make sure the box underneath it is ticked so that “Scan to Computer” will automatically be started every time you log in to Windows. (While you have the HP Printer Assistant window open, you can pin the window/application to the taskbar for easy access the next time you need it.)

Also, if you click on “Scan a Document or Photo” it will open the Scanner software so that you can initiate a scan from your computer screen instead of from the scanner display, which is sometimes kind of handy. (While you have the Scanner window open, you can also pin that window/application to the taskbar for easy access the next time you need it.)

Let me know if you have any questions.

I hope this helps.
