Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have scanned many documents on my Office Jet 8630. Yesterday the scanned document looked like a screen shot of the acrobat application page, that included the scanned document as well as the tools used by the application to adjust the imaged document. I have re-started the printer, but no success. There has no change in  my computer, nor anything with the printer. How do I resolve this issue?

Hi @9966,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with the way your scanned documents are appearing on your HP OfficeJet 8630. The issue you described could be related to several factors, including settings on your printer or the software you're using to scan the documents. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

  • Check Scanning Software Settings: If you're using scanning software on your computer, check the settings within the software. Ensure that you're not accidentally using a "preview" mode or a setting that includes additional elements like toolbars or menus. Look for an option to scan the document as an image-only PDF or another suitable format.
  • Scanner Settings: On your HP OfficeJet 8630, check the scanner settings. Make sure it's set to scan in a standard image format like PDF or JPEG. Ensure that any advanced settings for document size, resolution, or image enhancement are appropriately configured.
  • Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP OfficeJet 8630. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve compatibility issues and improve functionality.
  • Driver Update: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. Visit the HP website and download the most recent driver for your specific printer model and operating system.
  • Reset Printer Settings: Try resetting your printer settings to default. This can often resolve issues related to scanning settings that might have been accidentally changed.
  • Scan to Email or USB: If you're scanning directly to email or a USB drive through the printer's interface, make sure you're selecting the correct scan settings there as well. Choose a format that doesn't include additional elements like toolbars.
  • Test with Different Software: If you're using specific scanning software, try scanning a document using a different software package to see if the issue persists. This can help narrow down whether the problem is related to the printer or the software.

By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue causing your scanned documents to appear as screenshots of the Acrobat application page.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
