I contacted HP support through chat service.  They nolonger us the term auto crop.  In windows t10 go to bottome left corner and type in printer type.  Select the app for the printer.  Once it starts select scan.  My system has an option to save as JPEG.  Select that then go to right side of the panel.   Select item type of photo,  then under page size select DETECT PHOTOS.   it your display has an option for more in top right select it.  Make sure Item type is Photo, and input page size is DETECT PHOTOS.  Save your selections on the line that says save as JPEG and save it.  You can also go to the Destination at bottom of screen and select where you want all your JPEGs to be saved.  Makes it easy for future juse.
