Setting up and testing new 9730e printer. It won’t copy 11x17. I have an 11x17 doc on the glass, I choose copy, change tray to tray 2 where 11x17 paper is loaded, (tray 2 setting has already previously been modified on the printer screen to be 11x17), hit copy and get the following message.
“The paper size detected by the printer (Tabloid 11x17in.) in Tray 2 does not match the size selected for the job (Letter 8.5x11 in.). Touch “Print” to use the loaded paper or “Cancel” to cancel the job.”
Is there someplace I’m supposed to select the size for the job? Where? I didn’t select Letter 8.5x11 as the size for the job anyplace that I’m aware of. Please help. I’m losing my mind. The only reason I bought this printer is to print, copy and scan 11x17. I’ve removed the 8.5x11 paper from tray 1 and still get the same message. It will only copy on 8.5x11 from tray 1.

I have the same problem. I need to copy 11x17 to tray 2 every day. The solution suggested above is too complicated. I have a Mac laptop. The only workaround that I can find is to scan the 11x17 using the scanner app in HP Smart. Then you can print the result and choose the correct tray 2. Why hasn't HP solved this? When I select tray 2, it should print from tray 2. What is the purpose of tray 2 if you cannot select it. There should be an easy way to fix "Pager size mismatch in Tray 2" error.
