Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. I'm happy to hear that the scan is working now.

 

As you mentioned M477 software for the scanner is non-operational.

 

Uninstall the printer drivers from your PC and try installing the printer basic drivers and check if it helps.

Downloaded scan adn capture, work fine, still annoyed that HP software is not functioning properly.

HP Scan and capture is working, but I need OCR with genuine HP software!!! Is there any working solution please??? 

I have the same problem on 3 computers out of 10.

I, unfortunately, am not able to download the scan and capture app.  I purchased this product thinking that I would be able to print & scan (I do not fax) with ease since I do both multiple times per day.  Is there another option to fix the scanning function? I desperately need this fixed!

I am not sure there was an ERROR message. I took the response from some HP employee listed as an error in JUDGEMENT. My place is full of HP products from prtinter to computers to pro imgae scanners. This posted correction I find ridiculous. I bought an brand new HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP 477fnw printer yesterday, 12/22/17. I spent hours trying to get the icon placed on the deskktop during installaton to work. Each time I activated the icon a message appeared, "CLJM477 can was not found". I reinstalled the software using the CD and still found no soultion. Next I searched for an hour or so for the HP Solution center, Chat, etc, etc. looking for a solution. Then I find an employee offering some long do this do that with a note stating that if I do this and that I will also be blowing out my other HP printers and will have to load them all over again. No way! My other printers and scanners are working hjust fine as they are now. I am expecting a simple solution or I am taking this unit back and questioning my loyalty to HP going forward. This is ridiulous.  Please provide me with either or all of the following....a chat I can use, an email address to communicate with or a phone number of an actual human I can understand to speak with. My preference would by nonverbal communication as phone have no memory. Thank you! garwin48@gmail.com is my email address for your response.
