Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I have the same issue as others have raised with my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw  where I am unable to connect to "Apps" for the scanner functionality.  Whenever I click on the Apps icon from the main screen on the printer, it just stays on the "Connecting..." hourglass.

I've gone through the recommended process of manually resetting the network power in order to refresh the network connection and as well as updating the DNS for my printer to 209.244.0.3 (preferred) and 209.244.0.4 (alternate).

I've also followed the recommended steps of attempting to REMOVE the "Web Services" from the printer so that I may set it up again, however as soon as I confirmed the removal, it gives me the same "Connecting..." hourglass and nothing ever happens.

Further, I believe my router settings are correct, because I have another HP Photosmart 7525 at home using the same router and the "Apps" are working just fine.  Please advise ASAP.

Update the printer firmware and try again

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your Win computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

If the above step do not help, let us reset the printer to its factory settings and try again.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Let me know how this goes.
