I have a new printer (hp Office Jet Office Pro 6968)and it is working fine and is connected to the network. I have (as far as I know) removed all data from my computer with regard to my old printer HP 7520E) . However, when I turn on my computer I get an error message that reads "scan to computer is not available" and when I check this out they are referring to my old printer (HP 7529E). As indicated, I have removed everything from my computer from the old printer, so how can I make HP understand that they are to STOP using my old printer which no longer exists on my computer?

Hi,
On your system tray, near the date and time, locate the Scan to PC Activation icon. double click it and you will see it refer to your old printer. (you will likely have two such icons as following: )
Press Disable, uncheck the box to start the application and confirm, then restart and check for any change.
