HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer

I have an HP Deskjet 2755e All-in-One printer. I reconnected it because I unplugged it while redecorating and it is now reconnected to my wireless network and printing just fine. It is showing, though, as unavailable in the HP Smart app so when I attempt to scan a document it displays an error message that says "Scanning is currently unavailable." How can I resolve this issue?

Hi @Ns4me,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the "Scanning is Currently Unavailable" Error in HP Smart App for HP DeskJet 2755e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your computer or mobile device, the printer, and the router.
  • For Wi-Fi printers, disconnect and then reconnect to the correct network name (SSID) your printer is connected to.
  • Ensure the printer has a ready status.

Reset the Printer:

  • If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
  • Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the power source, wait for 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet, and then turn on the printer.

Check Printer Status in HP Smart app:

  • Open the HP Smart app and ensure you are signed in to your account.
  • Check the printer status icon next to the printer image.
    • Green circle icon: Printer is ready to print.
    • Green cloud icon: Printer is connected over the internet.
    • Orange cloud icon: Printer is connected with USB-only connection and needs to be reconnected to the internet.
    • Black circle icon: Printer is not connected.
    • Yellow triangle or Red circle icons: Printer needs attention (e.g., out of paper, door open).
  • Ensure your device and printer are on the same network and avoid public or guest networks.

Run HP Smart Diagnose & Fix Tool:

  • Open the HP Smart app and use the Diagnose & Fix tool.
    • In Windows: Click the Diagnose & Fix icon in the bottom-left corner.
    • In macOS: Click your printer, click Printers in the top menu bar, and then click Diagnose & Fix.
  • Follow the instructions to diagnose and resolve any issues found.

Re-add the Printer to the HP Smart app:

  • Make sure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer or with a USB cable.
  • Close and reopen the HP Smart app.
  • On the app home screen, right-click or long-press the printer icon, and then click "Hide Printer."
  • Confirm by clicking "Hide Printer" again.
  • Click "Add Printer" or the plus-sign, and then follow the prompts to re-add the printer.

I hope this helps.
