Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got a new computer and it has Windows 10.  Normally when I would go to printers and scanners I would see on the computer the "scan now" option when I chose my printer.  It is not there.  I updated drivers,etc.. and When I push scan on the printer itself something happens, but it does not tell my computer I have a scan.  What is the fix for this?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system (Win 10 64 bit):

 

https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-f4100-all-in-one-printer-series/3177560/...


Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

I think I saw part of this in my email...I am not sure.  Like maybe I saw I didn't have the full software downloaded.  I had tried loading drivers before to no avail.  I somehow found that I had not downloaded all of the software and got it fixed and working.  After receiving 3 scam emails.  Thank you.

HI,

 

Please download and install the FULL feature software.

 

Can you use anothe computer (or ask a friend to download and pass you the software?).

 

Without installing the software, you may not be able to scan.

 

Else, you can try to go to the Windows Store and download the HP Smart Apps.  

That's another apps you can use to scan.
