HP Envy 4520 How to scan to PDF

I am trying to scan a physical card with to a PDF file. I don't see any options to do this. In the printer manual, it says use scan to email. This doesn't seem to do anything.  I want to be able to send  via email the scanned card(s) in actual size, but haven't found way to do such. Windows 10 64bit pc. The card is being scanned as jpeg file.

There are a couple of options.

HP Scan is part of the Full Driver / Full Feature Software.

HP Scan (in most cases) includes a Scan to Email feature.

Make sure your email address (your "from" / return address) is added to an installed mail client.

For example, add your mail address to installed Outlook or Thunderbird.

Preparation

If you have not done so, download-save-install the Full Feature Software / Full Driver for the printer

If using USB cable between the printer and the computer, disconnect the cable.

  HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software

• Download-and-Save the printer software (Full Feature Software / HP Smart / Easy Start)
• Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
• Reminder:  If using Easy Start, select the Full Driver

  About 2/3 of the way through the setup, you will be given the opportunity to select the software - select the "Full" driver set (as opposed to the basic driver).

If using USB:  Connect the cable when instructed to do so (near the last part of the driver installation)

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

Full driver provides print and scan functions (even if HP Smart proves to be stubborn).

What else?

Use HP Smart to scan and send your document / photo to one or more recipients.

Add your return mail address to Windows Mail.

Caveat:  PDF document page size is selected from a pre-set list of available sizes.

Crop can be used - but may not always work as expected (bug?).

After the scan is completed,

Use Save > Select the Mail client to use (where your return address is stored)

Select your recipients and send the message
