I bought this All in One today. I set it up no problem. It prints like a dream, however when I come to scan I get a message on my PC saying The HP Envy Series was not found.

It has no problem finding it when printing. It definitely had no problem linking to it to sign me up for HP INSTANT INK, but scanning, NO. Please help, this is very frustrating.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

 

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-5540-all-in-one-printer-series/5447939/model...

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Although I had followed the installation instructions to the letter, and included downloading & installing the FULL printer software the installation via the link shown below sorted the problem

what fixed your issue i also downloaded a full version of a driver and it says program not found. what link were you referrign to below that helped you?

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

 

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

I have done that already and I couldnt scan still.  any ideas. i tried both USB connection and wireless.  Can you still scan from a pc that is not connected via USB?

Was the  FULL feature software install successful?  Was it installed from the CD or downloaded from the Web?

 

We'll suggest that you uninstall and reinstall with the dowload from the web.

 

Else, can you try this Software :

 

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
