Greetings @Hopeless6,

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are looking to set the default location when you scan a document on your printer, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you facing any print quality or scan quality issues on your printer?

The option to set a default location to save the scanned documents is not available in the printer software.

You would need to save them manually every time to a location of your choice.

Please click here for the printer manual.

Keep me posted.

There's  2-3 ways to save to a file; of which, the front panel display will enable saving to a file on the computer.

On the front display panel,  click Scan > computer where you see several choices:  scan to owner, scan for print, etc.   Those go to different folders; experiment for yourself, to see which works, it's too complicated for here.  Note the file path where they saved  (could be in documents, Widows Fax & Scan, etc. and then the file can be renamed, emailed, etc.)

In addition, the front panel has Scan > scan to email.  That, obviously, will send an email to your computer, from which you can email it, file, print, etc.  Of the two choices here:  Photo selects a jpg, while  Document sends as a pdf file.

HP Printer Assistant (part of the software of this printer) has a scan feature, check it out.  It will send as an email either as jpg or pdf.
