I need to reset my Hp envy printer to factory settings because I want to exclude some emails stored that I don't have any more access to and also forgot PIN (Scan to Email App). Indeed, that was the only solution given by HP in this forum for the same situation. I already reset 5x to factory settings without success and all configuration remains, including those **bleep** emails stored. Can someone please tell me how to really reset (hard reset) my printer to exclude all contents and not only a few configurations like wifi?

By the way, it really doesn't make sense to need the PIN to exclude emails from MY OWN PRINTER…

Hi @asdfghjklasdf ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to perform a hard reset on your HP ENVY Photo 7830 All-in-One Printer and clear all stored data, including emails, follow these steps:

Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer. Ensure it is completely off before proceeding.

Disconnect Power: Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait for at least 60 seconds.

Reconnect Power: Plug the power cord back into the printer.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Press and Hold: With the printer still off, press and hold the "Resume" button (which looks like a triangle inside a circle) and the "Power" button at the same time.
  • Release Buttons: Continue holding both buttons until the printer turns on and the power light starts blinking.

Factory Reset through Printer Menu:

  • Turn on the Printer: If the printer is not on, turn it on using the power button.
  • Access Settings: On the printer’s touchscreen, navigate to the "Setup" or "Settings" menu.
  • Select "Printer Maintenance": Look for an option like "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools".
  • Choose "Restore Defaults" or "Factory Reset": Follow the on-screen instructions to restore the printer to its factory settings.

Confirm the Reset: Confirm any prompts to complete the factory reset process. This should clear all stored settings, including emails.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
