Can anyone point me in the direction of the full feature and driver software for this HP G4050 scanner ?

I can only find the basic driver on the HP site which does not allow the scanner to do many of its features ?

HP Recommended

Full driver is available only for WIN XP as this scanner is older model, you can try to install in compatibility mode it might work
