HP Laser MFP 135w
Linux

Hi I have problems with scanning using xsane and also other scanning software. It appears that driver for Linux doing something wrong and it adds 2,5mm thin white border to every scan area which removes part of image with white area. Picture below should start from 0, but first 2,5mm has been cut by driver.
top and left edge cut out by driver.top and left edge cut out by driver.

Already using latest available driver for Fedora Linux 33: uld-hp_V1.00.39.12_00.15.tar.gz and also latest available firmware for this device LaserMFP135_V3.82.01.11_DS.hd

Made also check on Debian 10 which is different distribution with different version of sane, libraries etc. Used same driver downloaded from hp support page: uld-hp_V1.00.39.12_00.15.tar.gz
Same issue with white border around scanned area:

Ok I was found root cause. Looks like drivers works as expected (hp uld works).
Additionally used driversless solution as airscan:
$ sudo dnf install sane-airscan
$ airscan-discover
[devices]
HP040E3C74E488 (HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138) = http://192.168.1.70:80/eSCL/, eSCL
HP040E3C74E488 (HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138) = https://192.168.1.70:443/eSCL/, eSCL
HP040E3C74E488 (HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138) = http://192.168.1.70:8018/wsd/scan, WSD
$ sudo vim /etc/sane.d/airscan.conf

Adding those 3 lines to airscan.conf enabled xsane to use airscan (driverless) mode and scanner works with same issue.

Also tested that on Windows 10 64bit with HP MFP Scan tool shipped with HP driver for Windows. It seems that annoying white border is here too.

Conclusion: It seems that is not a driver or any system failure. It is firmware (LaserMFP135_V3.82.01.11_DS.hd) who causing whole issue with replacing part of scanned image with white border.

HP doesn't provide previous versions of firmware so can't test different one.
