Hi @Prakash2425,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP LaserJet M1005 MFP is not scanning properly, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Restart Printer and Computer
- Turn off the printer and your computer.
- Wait for a minute and then turn both back on.
- Check if the scanner works after the restart.
2. Check USB Connection
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the computer via USB.
- Try using a different USB cable or port if necessary.
3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the HP LaserJet M1005 MFP.
- Uninstall the current drivers from your computer.
- Install the freshly downloaded drivers and restart your system.
4. Use Windows Built-In Scan Utility
- If the HP scanning software is not working, try using Windows Fax and Scan or the Windows Scan app to scan your documents.
- Go to Start > Windows Accessories > Windows Fax and Scan.
- See if you can scan documents from this tool.
5. Check the HP Scan Software
- Open HP Solution Center or HP Scan (depending on the installed software).
- Ensure the scanner is detected and try scanning from the software.
6. Check for Scanner Hardware Issues
- Open the scanner lid and check if the scanner light turns on when scanning.
- If the scanner does not light up or make noise, it could indicate a hardware malfunction.
7. Try a Different Application
- Try scanning using a different app like Adobe Acrobat or Windows Paint to see if the issue is specific to the scanning software.
8. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from HP’s website. This tool can automatically diagnose and fix issues with scanning.
9. Check Scanner Settings
- Make sure the scanning resolution and file format are set correctly in the scanning software.
- High-resolution settings can sometimes cause scanning to fail or freeze.
