Problem with ADF and Scan to computer from the printer

 

I cannot scan multiple pages on this printer for "Scan to Computer".  The ADF makes noise trying to pull the pages from the feeder but it is unsuccessful. I can scan a single page placed on the glass for Scan to Computer. 

 

What the ADF CAN do:

-This printer can PRINT multiple pages using the printer screen to Print and the  ADF works without hesistation.

-If I use the HP Smart App on my computer, I can scan multiple pages through the ADF successfully.

 

Strategies I done so far: Turned my computer on and off. Turned my printer on and off. Yes, my printer, rollers, etc. have been cleaned. I have checked my drivers and they are updated. . The EWS box has been ticked on adminstrator settings.  I have "drained" the power from my printer: turned off, unplugged from the rear of printer for 20 seconds, reapplied the power cord in the back of the printer, and  finally turned on the printer. None of these were successful. 

 

My work flow requires that I need to use that little screen on the printer for the "Print to Computer" function for multiple pages using the ADF. It is too disruptive to my workflow to use the HP Smart App on the my computer. 

 

I need a solution that allows me to use "Scan to Computer" on the printer for a multi-page document using the ADF. The ADF doesn't pull the document out of the feeder even though I can hear it trying.  But the ADF does work very well without any hesitation with printing from the printer and when scanning from the HP Smart App.
