We have a streak down the middle of scans when using the ADF. The scanning area has been cleaned but the streak remains. It appears that there is a protective plastic film over the glass where the documents feed over the scan area. And the streak could be caused by a bubble under that plastic film. Is the film for shipping protection, or does it provide for smoother feeds through the ADF? I don't want to remove it to see if that is the cause of the streak and end up not being able to use the ADF.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you get a streak down the middle of scans when using the ADF of your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw.
This issue could occur if the protective cover of the ADF is not removed.
Hence, you need to remove the protective plastic and scan.
And here's the link where you can check the steps to set up the printer hardware: Setting Up the Printer Hardware
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.

Thanks for the information. I guess I wasn't completely clear. The ADF is working fine. The issue was that it seemed there was something underneath a clear film that is adhered to the rectangular piece of glass that the document obviously passes over when going through the ADF. I had cleaned that piece of film, but there still seemed to be a speck of dust under it. However, having read your response and looking at it closely again, I see a warning sticker on the body of the scanner near that area that indicates that the film should not be removed! I did then find a small fleck on the lid which likely was causing the line. I removed the fleck of material and performed a scan and it is fine!
Thank you,
Tom
