M225DN
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a HP M225DN multi-function AIO laserjet printer. I have connected it to my home network and everything seems to work fine. I can pull up the printer via the assigned IP from my web browser.

What is not working is the printer is not able to connect to the internet/webservices. I am not able to have the printer connect to check for firmware updates or the web services. I get an error: Connection error. Check internet connection.

It is connected via ethernet since it does not have WiFi.  Please help solve this mystery since everything else works well, except this issue. TIA

Hi @ghetia.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are experiencing a connection issue with the Web Services feature of your printer. I would like to help.

Sometimes printers get lost when trying to reach the HP servers over the internet. Try setting a manual DNS address. You should be able to do this in the printers Embedded Web Server (EWS). It should be at the same spot that you assigned the IP address. I have had the most success with the following address.

Primary DNS Server: 209.244.0.3

Secondary DNS Server: 209.244.0.4

If you have any questions, or this does not resolve the issue, let me know.
