I've been trying to setup Scan to Email via gmail with my Deskjey 8710 and continue to get the error message:
"The printer is unable to validate the server’s security certificate because the certificate is either self-signed or has been issued by an unknown authority. To enable the printer to validate the certificate, import trusted CA (Certificate Authority) certificates into the printer.
To import the certificate, go to the Certificates page, and then follow the onscreen instructions."
Here's the settings I've been working with:
Default From: myemail@gmail.com
Default Display Name: My name
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465
Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS) - yes
Validate Server Certificate - yes
Maximum Size of Email: Unlimited
Server Authentication - Server requires authentication:
User Name: My user name
Password: My password
Then when I do my outgoing email test I get the above error.
I do not have 2-factor authentication setup, and I have turned on "use less secure apps" in my gmail settings. I have been unable to find any other potential fixes via search. Hopefully you're able to help!
Thanks!
