Until the recent HP software update, I was able to scan directly to the computer using the control panel on the computer. Now when I press "Scan to Computer" I get "No Computer Found" error. When I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, it tells me that everything is ok. This is an important feature for me. Any help is appreciated!!

I understand that you are unable to scan to computer, I am glad to assist you.
Follow these steps to enable scan to computer, I am glad to assist you.
Enable scanning to a computer (Windows)
- Open the HP Printer Assistant. Windows 10: From the Start menu, click All Apps, click HP, and then select the printer name. ...
- Go to the Scan section.
- Select Manage Scan to Computer.
- Click Enable.

Hi Sandy, Thanks for your reply, but I do not have a HP Printer Assistant on my Windows 10 computer and don't know how to get it. I have been using HP Smart, which seems to be the standard software install on your HP 8710 webpage. It does not seem to have a Scan to Computer setting option. I installed HP Support Assistant, but that didn't do anything. I am still not able to scan from my printer. Thanks, Jack

This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
- Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
- Select the country.
- Enter the serial of your device.
- Select the country from the drop-down.
- Click on "Show Options".
- Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
