Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I remember  when I bought my printer years ago, it came with an original driver and software for Windows 8 that supported double-sided scanning. It then went through a series of updates but newer versions didn't continue having that feature any more.

I know that many people think that the printer physically flips the pages or scans both sides at the same time, but this model doesn't do that.

How the old software worked was that you'd place a stack of papers on the feeder & it would scan one side, (1,3,5,7) then you'd flip the stack & it would scan the other side (2,4,6,8). Then the app would automatically shuffle the scanned pages & put them in the right order, as simple as that.

I don't know why they removed this useful & necessary feature. I tried finding the outdated version, or the Windows original app, but it either doesn't work, or the feature doesn't exist.
