HP OfficeJet 9020
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have owned a HP OfficeJet 9020 for 2 months. In that time it has never scanned documents correctly. I have Aligned the Printer and scanned the page to fix this problem on multiple occasions, but it continues to have errors. Sounds like this is a known problem with this model. Can someone please assist me to fix this?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Does this happen while copying too? Does this happen fro the feeder or the scanner glass or both?

Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Hi Betty,

Thanks for your response. This happens in both copying and scanning. However, it only happens on the Automatic Document Feeder. It does not happen on the scanning glass.

I have checked the printer (following your instructions) and it is set to auto-update and has the latest updates.

Thanks again for your help. I am open to suggestions.

Please follow the instructions in step 4 from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-9020-all-in-one-printer-series/23918456/docume... and check if that helps

Thank you

Hi,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you about this. I have followed the instructions as per your recommendation. It has not changed anything. I can confirm that the following is occurring:

* Printing is fine. The printing is not crooked at all. Both single and two sided are fine

* Scanner Glass: Appears to be scanning correctly.

* Automatic Document Feeder: Both single and double sided are crooked.

I would appreciate any more suggestions, otherwise I would like to know what my warranty replacement options are.

Thanks

Thank you for the detailed response. This shows that the issue is only with the document feeder. Let us try cleaning the paper pick rollers and the separator pad in the feeder as shown in this document - ADF does not pick paper or feeds in too many sheets.

If the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
