HP Officejet Pro 8028
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have two HP Officejet Pro 8028. Both have auto ring on, When a fax comes in and no one is on the phone the line rings and rings and never receives fax. We have ringer set to 3. The only way we can get the fax to receive a fax is turn it off and then turn it back on. This printer takes a long time to boot up and its very bothersome to have this happen. We need these to answer and receive a fax as soon as it hits the 3rd ring. This is happening to both machines and just not sure what to do. Any advice because having to reboot each time to get a fax is not acceptable.

Thanks

Let's run a fax test:

From the top of the screen, touch or swipe down the tab to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ). Touch Fax Setup . Touch Tools , and then touch Run Fax Test. The printer displays the status of the test on the display and prints a report.

Before i put this up on the forum .. i tried all these and settings are all done and firmware is up to date. Still doesnt work. It just rings and rings even though its set to 3 rings. After we shut the machine down and then bring it back up ... we try and fax and the machine answers and receives the fax. But then days later someone tries to send one and it just rings and rings and again .. we do the same thing and it receives it.
