We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e

After using my HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e for 3+ weeks it no longer is able to scan.  I can print fine* and the HP Smart software is able to query the printer and collect status information (e.g., print levels).  (*actually have issue with printing emails as print comes out small but that's another issue).

 

I checked its network status and everything is fine.  I even disconnected and reconnected it from power to reset connection as well as rebooted my PC.

 

I am able to scan using HP Smart software (was able to before) nor initiating it from printer to my known PC Name on network.  After running a variety of diagnostics and uninstalling and installing software it seems the software for the scanner seems not visible to the program??  Initial error "Scanning Currently Unavailable"  It seems to be unable to locate/run the scanning software?

 

When trying to run one of the diagnostics it challenged me with an admin/password request.  I didnt initially set up web services and any of my normal passwords didnt work.  I couldnt change admin to "blank" as it was an unmodifiable field.

 

I am running Windows 10 (64 bit) Home build 19044.2604

I havent owned this printer a month yet and should be able to get warranty services but when entering my serial number it seems your server for such registration was down.
