Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 11

I've setup the local contacts list on this printer via it's web interface and configured/confirmed that the email server connection is good.

When I use the printers touch screen to select Scan -> Scan to email the shortcuts page appears with no way to select from the contacts list.

Any way to stop this shortcuts list from appearing and instead have the option from picking from contacts once the Scan to email option is tapped?

Thanks,

Not sure what you are using as the Scan to Email setup --

And / OR I might be missing the point.

"Scan to Email" Options / Types

  • HP Scan - Shortcuts can be transferred from the computer to the printer LCD (screen). -- Reminder -- This method requires that the Full Driver Printer Software is installed AND that Manage Scan to Computer is enabled.
  • Quick Sets can be configured using EWS for the same type of task (Scan to Email).
  • Contacts or LDAP Address books can be created using EWS.
  • HP App / HP Smart Shortcuts are created and used on the device where the HP App is used.

-- Details / Examples --

================================

Full Driver Software -- HP Scan -- Scan to Computer --

Shortcuts / Profiles to LCD (Printer control panel)

Scan to Computer - HP Scan Shortcuts are easier to create and manage in same ways though they generally do not support any user interaction once the Shortcut is started.  -- What? -- The Shortcut must be self-contained, that is, include all the necessary information it needs to complete.

SMTP Quick Sets can be created using the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Quick Sets include the most flexibility but also require the most work to set up and manage the process.

SMTP Scan to Email is a multi-stage process:

  • Create the Email Servers Profile
  • Create the Quick Sets Profile for Scan to Email

Alternate Format EWS – Select newer InkJet and a few LaserJet printers

Open your Browser

1)  Open EWS -- Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Note → If the browser security will not let you open EWS, try a different browser.

2)  Section General > Email Servers

And, next

3)  Section Scan > Scan to Email (Job Options)

Next, Create / Edit Scan to Email - Quick Set

2)  Section Quick Sets

3)  Quick Sets > Set Filter "Show All"

HP App / HP Smart -- Shortcuts --

-- Reminder --

Unfortunately, at this writing, Shortcuts in the HP App do not follow the proper Shortcuts naming convention.  This means you must / can create a proper Shortcut under a Shortcut name that describes the shortcut -- The HP App will not reflect that Shortcut name -- Instead the application uses a part of the interior destination as the "Shortcut" name.  HP Smart does not suffer this indignity and works as it ought.  An HP App Shortcut should work -- the wanted Shortcut might be more difficult to find in the list of Shortcuts.
