Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Within the past few weeks, I have had a few reports of users no longer being able to scan via USB cable to Windows 10 1909 from their mobile printers. They use the scan to PC command, and receive the following error: "to scan to a computer, make sure that the scanning software has been installed and configured on your computer."

 

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the latest full driver software package, tried updating the firmware, with no consistent results. One time the scanner worked immediately after a driver reinstall, but the user reported the issue returned the next day.

 

A scan initiated from Windows Fax and Scan seems to be a workaround for the time being, but we would like a solution for the control panel scanning.

Please download the Full Feature Softare https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJ250/OJ250_Full_WebPack_40.11.1148_1.exe

 

Also ensure the printer has the latest Firmware https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

 

Next Open the HP printer software. 

 

2. Go to the Scan section.

 

3. Select Manage Scan to Computer.

 

4. Click Enable.
