Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am running WIndows 10 64 bit, which I recently upgraded to from WIndows 7. I was in the middle of a huge scanning project when all of a sudden the scanner quit working. The document feeder runs the papers through, but nothing shos up on the scanner software.  I tried using the control panel on theprinter, it w ill not scan. I rebooted the computer, I deleted and reinstalled the software, I unpklugged the printer and plugged it back in, all to no avail. In the meantime my work is not getting done. I hate to have to go bu a new one. Please can somebody help?
