CM750A
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Have this printer for years and was trying to set up scanning to e-mail.

Setup the outgoing e-mail through the Embedded Web Server and test was ok.

When I try to scan to e-mail, I get a "server error".

What can be the problem?

It can, yes. You can talk to your email provider about those warnings and see if that resolves your issues. If not, check the settings entered into the embedded web server or try a different email provider.

Hey @maxblast,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you are having some issues with scanning from your Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.

First, the printer has two "Scan to Email" features: the digital solution that uses the email credentials you setup and the Scan to Email app. The first option is available by clicking on Scan and then Email. The app is available by clicking on Apps or Printables on the printer. Please let me know which version of Scan to Email you are trying to use. Once I know that I will be better able to assist you.

Hello, thanks for your help.
I am trying to setup digital solution that uses the email credentials, so your option one.
Thanks.

Alright, first thing to do is to see if there are any settings on your email client that the printer may be having some issues with. To do so click on the following links, enter your domain, and click on Lookup to see what issues your client may be having.

If after checking the settings on your domain are correct and correcting any errors if you still can not use Scan to Email, return to the Embedded Web Server and resubmit all of the information you entered and try the test again.

Please let me know if this resolves your issues. If it does, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Ok thank you.

DKIM shows 2 errors and 3 warnings:

Errors:

http     The remote name could not be resolved

dmarc  Record Missing

Warnings:

spf  No records found

dns SOA Refresh Value is outside of the recommended range

dns SOA Expire Value out of recommended range

As far as I can see, the SPF tool show the same errors and warnings (after clicking on the "find errors button" that is.

Is this what you need?

can it be related to my e-mail provider? Would it be better to use a gmail account you think?
