Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I found it on Google by searching around.  Here's the 1908C file.  You need to format a USB key to FAT32 and just drop this on the root.  Plug it into the MFP.  It will pop up something asking if you want to scan to it, but just wait a minute or so and the upgrade firmware (don't remember exactly what it says) button will appear.

Looks like that's a one shot sharing site, so I guess the first person to find it gets it.

Not sure if I'm allowed to share it or if links are allowed here.  Guess we'll see.

Here's where I originally got it.  Once it runs, just go to the temp file where the EXE is running from and you want the FUL2 file from there.

That's not my link, so I can't vouch for it.  It's just where I originally found it.

Same issue here. I have them breaking across locations all along the Eastern US today. Fantastic. We use a fictitious email address as the FROM so its identifiable to the users. EX StorenameLocation@ouremail.com and it has always worked.

Oddly enough - I AM able in the GUI to do a "TEST AND SAVE" email, and that comes through just fine..FIX THIS HP!

Yep, the test email works fine which is why this took longer to figure out.  How this ever passed QA is anybody's guess.  Likely there was no real QA done.

Looks like the mod removed the links from my previous post, so it apparently isn't allowed.  But you can probably find it on Google.

There are indeed bugs in the latest firmware and the fix is to downgrade to 2105D revision firmware. Here is a dropbox link to the .ful2 files for the most common Pagewide models affected by this. Download the correct file for your printer, copy it to a blank USB key and insert in the printer and wait. There have been some cases where the printer will not detect the USB key and other install methods are then required.

And for those of us that have multiple locations across the US, and have to pay someone to come fix it, is HP going to reimburse us? Perhaps HP can release a fix I can do from a web console a thousand miles away instead.

My 426 and 477 appear to be damaged. will that file work for both?

See Dropbox link, there are .ful2 files for each model. Also see the linked forum post for the instructions to send the file to the printer via CMD over the network, assuming you have a computer on-site to remote to. Also the flash drive procedure is simple enough to mail one to a site and have someone else do it. And honestly, the workaround using Outgoing Profiles isn’t that bad. I just set one up with the same info as the default from, and the users just have to “pick one” when sending. Frustrating as this is, this isn’t the biggest large company screwup I’ve had to deal with this week. At least we have two good options for workaround.

I have hundreds of them. NONE of those fixes are "easy" at that level,

I wouldnt expect my users to have to do anything of the kind.

What would be "easy" is HP re bundling the working revision as "new" so it would fix itself.

Have you tried calling to see if you can get anywhere with phone support? The PageWide line is supported by the same team as the Elitebook and Zbook, so better class of agent than the consumer level at least. It’s certainly possible they have a new build available for testing but haven’t released it to general yet.

At least for me I will accept some responsibility for this. The default option in the web interface is to not update firmware automatically. I turned it on trying to be “safe” and get security updates for firmware bugs. In retrospect with as many as I have, I should have had a 10% test group with the new build and then pushed the rest manually.

Our printers are deployed and supported by a National company that has monitoring for toner levels and ships them out at 20% remaining as well as repairs and etc. Good relationship for us. Where they are willing to do what they can for us, I don't think its fair that they now have to send their folks out either. HP screwed the pooch on this one. Wish this was a one time thing, but I can remember having to set up a special receive connector on Exchange a few years ago the last time they updated and they wouldn't connect to the server at all.
