I have the same model. My scanner error says enable scan to computer to it will start to scan again. This stopped when

I installed Win10. Also the webservice printer I had HPD5FC47 is also gone from the devices list but is on another list

but says no driver and also not connected. Have no idea how to connect it or what that means.

The original printer is Photosmart 5510d B111h although the printer has Photosmart 5514 printed on it. The disk I

have is old and says 5510d, why the difference in numbers have no idea.

Nothing seems to work right anymore since I upgraded to Win10.

Hope you guys can help because I have had no luck for weeks now trying to get help from HP.

thanks

Hi,

Here's how to create a new user account on Win 10:

On Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Professional editions:
  1. Select the Start button, then select Settings > Accounts > Family & other people > Add someone else to this PC.
  2. Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next. You're done!

Try that and see if you are still not able to install the printer software.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

The following resource will help you :

Sorry this did not help me. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall after it saved to my download file and I double clicked it to open it said Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the items.

C:\users\owner\appdata\local\temp\7zS7B2A\Setup.exe

I get this error message all day long on various files I try to open ever since I upgraded to Win10.

Hi,

It seems that you may have a account access issue.

We'd suggest that you create another account on Windows 10 and try downloading and installing.

It happened to us (once) and after creating a new user account on WIn 10, our printing as well as access to files are resolved.

Not sure what happened though but WIndows is hard to figure at times 🙂

Hope that helps!

How do I create another account for who, me. I need help to do this, I am already too confused. I don't like that there

is no instant chat with HP to have them fix my printer. I know they would do it for a fee and I am glad you guys are

here to help, but I have no idea what you want me to do.

The printer has worked fine until the update. Now the scanner gets an error message for me to enable "Scan to Computer", are they kidding. I can't find that anythere.

Also my eprint address does not work anymore. I have to find a way to add that back.

Also I had a webservice address that was printing from both laptop and desktop....and you guessed it, it is gone now, it

just disappeared.

I love computers but not now. I really hate it when WINDOWS does updates to my computer and eliminates what they don't want there.

Thanks greenturtle. I now have my printer found.

Can you tell me where to find scan to computer so I can enable it and make my scanner work again.

thanks a million, you have been very patient with this 71 year old grandma. I used to love computers, now they

seem to have a mind of there own and I don't like it when they make changes that they think are good for me...

Hi @idaray

Glad to be of help.

If you have the FULL feature software installed, you can watch the follow resource on how to enable and use Scan to computer:

How to Scan to Computer

Scan to Computer

How to use "Scan to Computer" properly

Here's the steps if needed:

Once you have installed the software:

1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.

2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.

3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Dean, I did get my HPd5 webprint service installed and under the control panel it says its working fine. But when

I try to use it to print the error message says it was not installed properly, so it doesn't print.

Also when reinstalling I did not see a FULL install of software so not sure it I did a FULL or not. And my computer does not

show a printer icon on my taskbar, only when I am printing something. So I can't get to the scan to computer option.

I did watch the video and understand completely how to do it, if I can ever get to it!

I know you have been struggling with me for a while but we are not done yet. I am going to uninstall and reinstall again and hope.
