Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have recently upgraded my wireless router.  I've selected the new WiFi network and entered the password on my all in one  printer/scanner HP Photosmart 5520 and computer.  My computer is connecting fine to the printer and I am able to print documents.  However, when I place a document on the flatbed screen of printer/scanner and select scan to computer a message comes up saying 'no computer found' and to check that 'scan to computer' is enabled.  I don't seem to be able to find this listed anywhere to enable.

I'm also not entirely sure what type of Windows 10 I have, between 64/32 bit although I know it's the home version and I recently purchased it.   Please help.  Thank you.

@SIB51, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Enable scan to computer

1. Click on the printer icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also, make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent.

If the issue persists, follow the steps below-

Step 1: Restart the Router, Printer, and PC in a sequence.

  • Turn off the Router. Wait for 60 seconds. Turn the Router back on.
  • Turn off the Printer. Wait for 60 seconds. Turn the Printer back on.
  • Turn off the Computer. Wait for 60 seconds. Turn the Computer back on.
  • Try scanning the document. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Run the Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctorhttps://support.hp.com/doc-images/966/c03286133.jpg to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.
  • After the Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Fix Scanning to test your scanner, and then follow any instructions to resolve the issue.
  • Try to scan.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
