Hello, 

 

Could use some help. I have a HP Photosmart C4780 All-in-One Printer and since I no longer can use HP Solution Center, I am unable to select "Scan at maximum pixel depth" option(48-bit). Using the workarounds(HP Scan and Capture and so on...) it only provides 24-bit depth. 

Can someone provide me another way to use de scanning feature of my printer at its maximum capability(quality)?

To be more precisely:

 

I created in HP Solution Center a scanning shortcut with "Scan At Higher Bit Depths" option checked, which allowed me to scan up to 48-bit color depth, thus resulting in more smooth colours.

 

This option is no longer available in any other software I tried.

Does this mean that from now on I'm stuck with a "crippled feature" of my product just because HP doesn't care or don't want to create a new non-flash based solution for its products?

 

I wonder if any of you guys found a solution.

I understand your concern. However, there is no other driver/option available for this printer. Hence, limited functionalities. 

 

I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Since you are a support agent working for HP, i'd like to ask you nicely to open a ticket or forward my request(surrely i'm not the only one having these problems with your products) to the developers team. I'm sure a new application like HP Solution Center can be developed without using Adobe Flash Player to allow me and others like me to be able to use their products full functionalities . It's just a matter of software which can be made if your company cares about its customers.
