I just installed the full software for my new HP OfficeJet 5255. This software included the HP Printer Assistant program which allows you to fax, scan, or print from its menu. I tried to send a fax with the program but it will not send a single thing. The printer queue just shows spooling and printer is busy. I don't get a dial tone at all. However, if I try to fax directly from the printer using its console, it will send out faxes. I can receive faxes with no problems. It's just that I am not able to send a fax using the HP Printer Assistant software program.
My old printer was an HP Office Jet 4655 and it also had the HP Printer Assistant program and it worked flawlessly. What am I doing wrong and how can I get this to work? I am connected via both USB and Wifi.
