HP Scan and Capture can't find device

I have HP Officejet 4500.  HP scan and capture indicates it can't find my device when I go to the settings menu and click on select device it only shows Camera. Product is not supported anymore according to HP, so any help will be appreciated.

The printer series  is not supported in Windows 11.

Windows 11 compatible HP printers

The printer was supported in Windows 10 using the Windows Built-in print driver.

The built-in driver supports basic print function (in a supported Windows OS) and scan (limited options).

Regardless,

HP Scan and Capture requires the installation of the full driver software.

That means the application was not available in Windows 10.

What to do?

You might be able to use third party scan software - likely not free.

If you can find no other options, this company specializes in Scan software for unsupported printers.

Scroll / Search for HP Scan and Capture

Left-click on the App for options associated with this app.

If available, Click Advanced for additional controls.
