When HP Scan and Capture starts it gives a list of devices - about 8 - all the same priner, but only the last one works.
How can I set the default printer to the one that works?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP forum.
Not sure how the 8 devices appear but have you tried selecting it (the last one) and scanning and does it "stick" the next time you scan again?
Also, we would recommend that you try installing the FULL feature software for your printer. It has better scan features.
Can you confirm your printer model again? Can't seem to find the HP 2023 in the HP site.
Alternatively, you can try this Scan software as well :
HP Scan Extended
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Let us know if that works.

Hello Dr_Byte,
There are a couple of things you can do in this situation. First under your devices in My Computer, you can right click and delete the 7 devices you are not utilizing, you can right click on the device you would like to be default and select "set as default".
This should clean up the list of devices and save you from having to select the one you want each time.
Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Wendy_R
