Microsoft Windows 11

My boss rebooted my system and my CANON i-SENSYS MF212 w IP address or host name it tells me "Invalid data" after I've added it manually to HP Scan and Capture.

Before the reboot it was working perfectly and I have downloaded the latest software.

Answer

After ten years of service, the very popular HP Scan and Capture application was retired in 2024.

Presumably, as long as you do not uninstall the application, the application can still be used.

If for any reason you remove / uninstall / lose access to the installed version of the HP Scan and Capture app, it can no longer be used on that system.

Note:

From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
