I am not able to see he scanner on my laptop. I am quite sure I have the same problem many other have with the 24H2 update.

Unfortunately, following the steps on this article did not help: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_11638947-11639021-16

Hi,
From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.

Past the following command and press enter:

Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection

Now restart your computer and try scanning, may you see any difference?

did not work.

I have all the latest Windows updates.....Still it is not working. Pls help.

I have followed all the steps mentioned in https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_11638947-11639021-16

No luck yet. Is there any permanent fix available?

HP Recommended

Nope, unfortunately I was no able to fix the problem.

I opened a support case with my retailer, and they were kind enough to take back the scanner and reimburse me the money. I bought a Canon with the ability to connect to the Wi-Fi and automatically send the scans on a shared network folder 😅

  • You can download offline packages directly from the provided links.

Verify Updates Installation:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History to confirm the installation of these updates.

Use Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager and expand the Imaging devices category.
  • Check for two entries for the connected device labeled "HP HP..." and "HP..." If the two entries do not appear:
    • Wait for two minutes for the second entry.
    • If it doesn’t appear after two minutes, restart your PC, wait three minutes, then go back to Step 3.

I hope this helps.
