HP Scan won't save a document containing a QR Code

Using HP SCAN software and an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w Printer, I am trying to scan a document with a QR code and it will not show the preview of the page after the scan, preventing me basically from seeing it and saving it as a PDF file.  Is this desired behavior?  If I cover the QR code, the document scans normally.

I would guess the HP Scan software does not understand and cannot translate the QR code.

Some form of the following might work.

At the least, if the data is scanned (and saved) as an Image, the file can be printed.

Open Windows Fax and Scan or other scan application / software.

Scan the offending document page as an Image file and save.

If the file is not already open in (for example) Windows Fax and Scan

Navigate to the folder where the file is saved.

Right Click on the file name > Show more options > Print

"Print" to a PDF file
