We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended
HP Scanjet 7650
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Due to a hardware defect I had to move to a new computer with supported OS. In this case:

Windows 10 x64 Version 1709 (Build 16299.248)

 

Installed drivers:

- Windows 8.1 x64 HP Scanjet 7650 basic driver

- Windows 8.1 x64 HPSCanExtension

- Windows 8.1 x64 TWAIN Drivers

- (also tried installing drivers via problem solution for older OS)

 

Installed Software:

- Windows 10 store: HP Scan & Capture

- Vuescan

 

The scanner itself is being recognized as HP 7600 series scanner in the device manager.

 

Issue: HP Scanjet 7650 freezes after scanning the first page. Only a disconnect and reconnect to power brings the scanner "back to life".

 

Looking for a dedicated solution to run under Windows 10 x64. Several forums wrote, that some people are running this pretty nice scanner under Windows 10 x64, but this soltion does not work for me. Looking for profesional support.

Hi,

Your scanner is not supported on Windows 10, Windows 8.1 is the latest supported operating system for the scanner as clearly stated below:

Running the software in Compatibility mode or removing a such and trying the VueScan drivers instead would be the best bet.

If you may installed the Windows 8 drivers first you may try removing those and then removing and reinstalling VueScan only to ensure it uses its own drivers and not the HP drivers, then check if you may see any difference.

 

There is no dedicated solution and no testing has been done,  the product is clearly listed as not supported with the operating system..
