Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Folks,

i've got an HP Scanjet N6350 network scanner, connected with LAN to my Router.

In my routingtable of my router, the scanner is listed.

But the HP Scanner-Tools on my Win10 -PC and my macbook can't find the scanner.

I tried anything, but have now no more ideas.

Hi @Maik5,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Scanjet N6350 is not getting recognized on the network, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to identify and resolve the issue.

  • Check Network Connection: Ensure that the scanner is connected to the same network as the computer you are trying to access it from. Verify that the network cables are properly connected and that the scanner is powered on.
  • IP Address Verification: Check if the scanner has obtained an IP address. You can usually do this by printing a network configuration page from the scanner's control panel. Make sure the IP address is valid and within the same subnet as your computer.
  • Firewall and Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, firewall settings or antivirus software may block the scanner from being recognized on the network. Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software and see if the scanner becomes accessible. If it does, adjust the settings to allow the scanner's communication.
  • Check Scanning Software: Ensure that you are using the correct scanning software or application to access the scanner on the network. Some scanners require specific software to be installed on the computer.
  • Reboot Devices: Try rebooting both the scanner and the computer to refresh the network connections.
  • Update Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers and software installed for the HP Scanjet N6350. You can visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
  • Reset Network Settings: If you suspect there might be a network configuration issue, you can try resetting the network settings on the scanner to default and set it up again.
  • Router/Network Configuration: Check your router settings to see if the scanner's IP address is being blocked or if there are any network settings that need to be adjusted to allow the scanner's communication.
  • Scanjet N6350 Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for the Scanjet N6350. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve network connectivity.
  • Try a Different Computer: If possible, try connecting the scanner to a different computer on the same network to see if the issue is specific to a particular device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
