I just tried mine and it's still crashing. I have an iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021), macOS Big Sur, version 11.6.4. My printer is an OfficeJet Pro 7740, wide format.

 

This is the reason that's given in the report—

Well I spoke too soon.  As I thought the HP Smart App was fixes I tried it again this morning and crashed (see below).  What I did this time was to make sure I was using the document feeder and also selecting DUPLEX.  That definitely crashed the HP Smart App.  Back to using the builtin MAC Image Capture for scanning Duplex on Document Feeder on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8720.  😞

HP.... Any idea when this bug fix will come out? Its really annoying.

I have two HP9018's that worked just fine with the ADF scanning function until recently.    Its apparent that the IOS Monterey update is the issue with HP smart or not so smart.  We all have tried restarting, deleting, reinstalling the app, power off and on and installing the update and of course on the same wifi.  Thats how the app works.  HELLO HP can you fix this? ADF scanning is not working and that is a huge problem

I been having the same problem with the HP Smart software for my OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer with my MACBOOK PRO on Monterey 12.3 and the previous version of Monterey.  I did find a workaround. I scan a page on the glass scanner. Then I scan using the document feeder, and it works.

Same here with an HP Officejet Pro 8610. Absolutely will not scan from feeder--the app shuts down--but feeds fine from the scanner glass one sheet at a time. HIGHLY UNPRODUCTIVE!

 

I tried to call HP Help and held for 20+ minutes with no answer.
