Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

See the video. I've been using this HP all-in-one printer/scanner/fax for a few years flawlessly. Then one day when I tried to scan it did this:

 

 

The HP Smart Mac desktop App version 5.5.6 is stuck in an endless loop for me to scan. I tried the sign in button AND the create account button. I have an account, was just trying anything I could. I tried restarting the app, that did nothing. I searched and found switching the default browser and turn off private browsing solved this for someone else. It did not solve it for me. I can't update my OS at the moment.
