Actually I some how magically fixed it. Not exactly sure what happened but when I kept getting these errors, I thought "hmm.. maybe I need to use a third party fax app to actually send it...". So i installed EasyFax and set it up. Then when back to HP Smart, expecting to have to select the app or some how integrate it, and the mobile fax button just started working. I then went back to the EasyFax app to check the history to see if it was using that app and it just didn't require any steps to figure out what app to use but the history was empty... So i'm not sure what happened or why it was fixed but the recipient got my fax and all is good. I'm just guessing here but maybe there was some system configurations that were need that HP Smart just isn't capable of setting but EasyFax was, other than that I can't think of why this process would have solved the issue.

 

Hopefully this helps someone else or maybe I just got lucky!
