Using HP Envy Inspire 7255e with Mac OS Sequoia 15.0. Ever since upgrade to current Mac OS whenever I open HP Smart app, it loads up to a certain point and I get message "Enable Local Network permissions to use HP Smart with your printers." According to my permissions, HP Smart is allowed to use Bluetooth, but when I check Bluetooth settings, the printer does not show up as "My Devices" or "Nearby Devices." My printer wireless settings are OK and Bluetooth low power mode is on. I have restarted both my computer and my printer, cleared my computer cache, but I still cannot use the app to scan, etc. I do not know if this is the result of Mac OS update, but this has happened in the past with an update.

HP printers use Bluetooth only with HP Smart for configuration. You cannot print with bluetooth.
HP Smart should be able to scan. Try a re-install of the driver
https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/update-printer-software-a-printing-problem-mchlp1077/mac
The latest version of HP Smart, as of Jun, 2024, is 154.2.1072.0 (USA English). If you do not have this version then go to the Microsoft store, find HP Smart, and click "update". If the button "update" is missing then you need to run WSRESET from the Windows search bar.

Thanks. I will try reinstalling the driver. I will let you know if that works. Unfortunately, the intrusive Bluetooth screen will not let me see what version of HP Smart I have. For the life of me, I do not understand why HP wants to connect to my other devices using Bluetooth.

Thanks again. I have tried to reinstall the HP Smart driver as you recommended, but when I do, I get the same blocking screen saying that I have to enable Bluetooth for it to work and it is enabled. So I am still stuck with being unable to use my printer for scanning and faxing. I cannot help but think that the problem may be related to the latest update to Mac OS Sequoia 15.0. This happened in the past and HP said it was too busy to bother with a fix so I had to wait several months. I hope someone else has a suggestion.

If you are using Air Print you just connect the printer to the WiFi network.
This video shows wifi setup for your printer

Alternately, ask Google AI or Microsoft Copilot how to use WPS to connect the printer to to the modem/router.
