HP Smart shows my printer (HP ENVY 5032) as 'ready' and is able to print. However, when attempting to scan I am told that HP Smart could not connect to the scanner.
I followed all the troubleshooting recommendations to no avail, and the HP Print & Scan Doctor couldn't locate an issue. I have reconnected the printer, laptop & router and I have also tried to use the printer via a USB connection. HP Scan still tells me it is unable to connect to the scanner.
Is there a way of bypassing HP Smart that might allow me to scan? When touching 'Scan' on my printer's digital display it simply tells me to download HP software.

Please use HP Scan Extended software to scan:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
