Product: HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer

I've used the HP Smart app on my laptop since Day 1.  It used to work just fine.  Tonight, for no understandable reason, it won't work with my printer anymore.  The error message says could not connect to scanner.  But it used to work.  I don't know how else to get the scanner to work.  Yes, I have tried rebooting.  Yes, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app.  None of that worked.
