I cannot get HP Device Manager to work on my computer. I want to set it up so I can scan documents from the computer.
Computer: System 76 Laptop
Operating System: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Printer: HP OfficePro 6830
The Ubuntu printer function connects to the printer and prints perfectly. However, neither of the Ubuntu scan functions (Simple Scan or Xsane) will find the printer for scanning. So I downloaded and installed the HP Device manager for Linux. It doesn't even find the printer. The printer is connected to my router, as is the computer.
I also have a Dell laptop with Windows 7 that connects to the router with Wi-Fi and HP Device Manager works perfectly from that machine.
Any suggestions on how I can get the Linex machine to scan from the HP OfficePro?
