I am sure we will get this figured out.

 

What is the printer name listed as in the Device Manager?

If you right click on the name and left click on Properties, does it say the device is working properly?

 

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. The power source can affect scanning and copying.

 

Try and make a copy to rule out a hardware issue.

 

Try scanning from Paint.

 

Windows Fax and Scan: Use this Windows app to scan from most HP all-in-one printers.
Search Windows for fax, then click the Windows Fax and Scan app or program in the list of results.
That way we will know if it is a Wia, Twain or driver issue.

Hi gemini02;

 

In device manager it is listed as "HP ENVY 4500 series(NET)" for wireless and " HP ENVY 4500 series (USB)" for usb connection.

 

It does say that device is working properly in device properties.

 

Copy fucntion does not work.

 

Scanning form MS Paint  doesn't work either.

 Windows FAx and Scan failed too. Although all these services can find printer w/o any problem.

 

Might be hardware issue!

Thanks for letting me know that you can't copy either @f31.
 
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
 
Please keep the scanner lid open and then press the copy button.
Check if the scanner bulb glows.
Check if the scanner moves freely across the glass.
 
If it turns out to be a hardware issue, you can contact HP Customer Support to find out what service or trade in options is available. Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance. Thank you.

It seems like hard reset did not work.
